A torrent of weekend news... (2ND UPDATE)

President Obama asked Americans to "reserve judgement" on the Fort Hood shooter. As an e-mailer said to me, that's ironic coming from a man who didn't hesitate to call cops "stupid" when they arrested his buddy Professor Gates.

Seattle Police have called the accused cop-killer a domestic terrorist. Let me get this straight: he's a terrorist - but the FBI assures us that the Muslim who killed 12 Fort Hood soldiers is not. Hmmm...

====================================================

Like everything else in society and in the universe, we find out the Seattle cop killing was all Bush's fault: Monfort "believes he is unique, because he is upset about our current state of government and actually wants to do something about it. ... The student body has been cheated and lied to by the Bush Administration, said Monfort.

It's a good thing we passed that stimulus package that the Obama administration told us would "keep unemployment under 8%"... The nation's unemployment is now 10.2% - with real unemployment at 17.5%. Is that hope?... or change?...

====================================================

Is this the cop killer who was shot and captured?

It was a heart-wrenching memorial Friday for Officer Brenton.

Fort Hood shooter reportedly shouted "Allahu Akbar" before opening fire.

Questions persist about President's amazingly insensitive speech.

Under Pelsoi's bill, if you don't buy health insurance, you could go to prison for five years.

CNN reports the public has turned strongly against the health care bill.

It looks more and more as if Mike McGinn will be the next mayor of Seattle.

Have at it...

    Pelosi wants me to go to jail?
    I've about had it with this health care crap from Pelosi. I have employer insurance now, but I went through a private insurer when I was self-employed. It was not expensive.

    What I do is invest in my health by eating right and exercising. I have ideal blood pressure, triglycerides and cholesterol. It's not that hard to do and actually is fun.

    Why should I pay for people that are too lazy to take care of themselves?

    The local media sure does love the cop-killer story
    but what a terrible job of covering it. Way too many cliches in use by our local tv reporters. Nothing like watching Steve Raible fumble his way through trying to stall when heir helicopter footage gets cut when circling over lots of police cars and not really knowing what's going on. Pathetic. Why have breaking news when you don't know what's happening?

    Beginning to look like it wasn't Greg Nickels' fault after all....
    It's fantastic that they caught the scum bag cop killer. If he lives, I am sure justice will be done. (Justice might even be done if he doesn't live- assuming for sure this is the guy).

    Could the hateful stereoptypes be wrong?

    Last weekend, the cop killing was blamed, partially, on Greg Nickels for failing to curtail gang activity in Seattle. Almost everybody was sure it was a gang initiation deal, and one poster even furnished secret inside information that the gang involved was the Double Deuce, or some similar name.

    Folks who suggested that judgment concerning the gang angle might be withheld until the perpetrator was caught were admonished to "get out of your Beaver Cleaver house and see what really goes on in Seattle".

    Looks like its an early middle age nut case, living outside of Nickels' jurisdiction.

    It's still not too late for some "gang" info to emerge, but the stereotypists certainly don't have a "lock" on this thing the way it looks right now.

    Because someday, no matter how well you take care of yourself, you might get cancer... or Parkinson's Disease... and I would hate myself if I ever asked myself, "Why the heck am I paying for him?"

    You're right but only in the sense that health 'insurance' should be to insure against rare events.

    We should only pay for insurance against rare events (catastrophic diseases) and every other normal medical need should be out of pocket

    Just read an article on "person of interest".
    Looks like Dori should stick to his day job and not try the criminal profiling thing any more. This guy looks like a mental miswire.....not some Mayor Quimby inspired anarchist with a political bent.

    These posts seem to fit the same Genre
    as the headlines - simply bizarre. I listened to the memorial today as I was working in my garage and found it was a very touching memorial today. As I was listening to Ron and Don cover the memorial - to hear the breaking news, my first thought was that it's not related since it only stated "officer/shots fired" - then the story begins to unfold. Pelosi - I no longer give her any creedence. She's struggling desperately and strikes me as nothing more than a senile and bitter person. Obama's comments - they don't surprise me. He was following the telepromter. The polls/health care - lowest approval rating for congress in 25 years - a trend that has continued for well over a year (Remember the congressional approval ratings during the Bush Administration (yes it was a Democratic led congress). Maybe Obama will go down in history for hope and change as he brings to light the absolutely corruption and greed in Gov't - of course it's being led by him. Ft Hood - sssh, don't mention the shooter was Muslim, already had a documented history of radicalism. Let's focus on being PC and blame it on America.. McGinn - Makes me happy to live in Monroe.. Lastly - the attack Dori posts. Maybe more bizzare than any of the other stories - bitter people so filled with hate and anger. Is this their only contribution to society? They're redefining "Grumpy Old Men" - So picture "Grumpy Old Men III" - The seen opens with Drool, awbitf, frogspash, etc standing in line at the unemployment office blaming a radio talk show host for their "Bad Luck". As they complete their paperwork: Job Experience - Far Left Liberal blogger, Education - Media Matters, Keith Oberlman, Daily KO's.
