Hawks and Broncos Face Off Tonight at Qwest Field
by Liz Mathews, 710 ESPN Seattle

Today on his morning show, John Clayton touched base with Brock Huard and the two ran down the match up for tonight. Brock will be calling the game this evening up in the booth with Steve Raible, so tune into 710 ESPN Seattle or 97.3 KIRO FM for the 7:30pm kick off and all the action!
On the O-Line...
Per Brock, worse case scenario, Big Walt might not return until after the bye week, so keep your fingers crossed.
With Water Jones out, Clayton explained: "All the experimenting is done. They have to make decisions, and they have to put players in positions to help them make THOSE decisions." Clayton advised, "Build up the 5 best offensive linemen you have and stick with them."

Brock and Clayton agree that Spencer needs to have an impressive season as this is his fifth and final year under contract. Both expect big things from Spencer, despite the fact that there is an increased burden placed on him under Knapp's offense. Brock cited the added responsibility of calling protection and instituting an effective run game.
As for Denver's Offensive Line, Brock reported that they gave up just 12 sacks last season. "This is a very good Denver Offensive Line, " said Brock, "and the test for the Hawks is to see whether they can exert the same pressures as they have during practice. This should be a good measuring stick for the Hawks."
On the Seahawks' Defense...

Brock will be looking to Colin Cole and Brandon Mebane to see whether or not they can disrupt the Denver Offense. He was impressed with the two in both training camp and San Diego last weekend and expects them to see more play time tonight and to be "highly active" in the game.

Brock and JC also discussed the continuing position battle at corner back. Both Hobbs and Jennings need to shine in these preseason games to solidify roster spots, come cut time.
Final Note...
What should Seattle do with Denver's first round pick? There were some questions today surrounding the idea of the Hawks trading the pick back to Denver in return for Brandon Marshall. Both Brock and JC answered with a resounding NO!!!
