Ann and Nancy Wilson of the Seattle band Heart are furious the Republican Party used their song 'Barracuda' when vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin took the stage during the convention.

The song played after Palin's speech on Wednesday night. On Thursday Heart sent out an email asking that the Republican campaign stop using the song. Despite the warning the song was again played on Thursday night after McCain's speech.

Former Heart guitarist and 'Barracuda' co-writer Roger Fisher joined the Dori Monson Show Friday and said, "I'm thrilled with this whole thing."

Fisher claims he's a staunch supporter of Barack Obama, but still has no problems with his song blasting over the speakers inside the Xcel Energy Center Stadium in St. Paul during the convention.

"I think it's a win-win-win situation. One: Heart wins because of the publicity and royalties. Two: McCain wins because of the ingenious placement of a kick-ass song. Three: Justice is served as Ann and Nancy point out the indiscreet usage of a song written by three people, actually four people including DeRosier, who strongly support a direction with Heart, namely Barack Obama."

If Heart's song sways the opinions of voters and changes the outcome at the polls, Fisher said, "that would be really, really bad."

But, "the fact that they thought the song had enough merit and relevancy to even use is a real compliment to the song," said Fisher.

Fisher estimates he makes about 3 or 4 cents each time someone downloads Barracuda off iTunes. He thinks its play Thursday night could mean a few more bucks in his pocket.

Ann and Nancy Wilson, Roger Fisher, Sue Ennis, and Michael DeRosier wrote and released Barracuda on the "Little Queen" album in 1977.
