The Seahawks have returned to Kirkland for training camp.
710 KIRO's Bill Swartz has posted himself on the sidelines to take in the action and talk to players about the off-season, injuries, the 2008 season, the new training facility and the coach's last year.
Swartz caught up with wide receiver Courtney Taylor, who is excited about the new training facility in Renton. "It's on exit 7 and I live on exit 7. I used to ride up there and just check it out. It looks awesome."
Courtney says in between the two daily practices, the guys have been playing basketball. "We have a little hoop set up in the locker room. Everybody's talking trash. It's a real small hoop and no one ever really makes a shot, but it's just something we put up to keep ourselves entertained."

The new number 98 also stopped by to talk with Bill. Linebacker Julian Peterson says he's had a great summer and it's been wonderful to spend time with his family, but he's ready to get back to work.
As for switching his number from 59, Peterson says, "I tried to do it last year, but something came up. Same person, just different number."
You might notice Peterson looks a little different. "I gained a little bit of weight. I'm getting fat nowadays."
Peterson says he's excited about the move to the new training facility next month. "I live five minutes away from it, so it's a very good commute.

Matt Hasselbeck called the off-season, "short and sweet," in his conversation with 710 KIRO talk show host Dori Monson Thursday. "We're back at work already. We've got our conditioning test here at two-thirty,, and we had a practice this morning--we get going, it was a short off-season and we're ready to go."
This season will mark head coach Mike Holmgren's tenth and final season in Seattle. Describing Holmgren's attitude going into his final season, "He's full of energy, full of excitement, he's ready to go," says Hasselbeck.

The team has undergone some changes to the roster from 07'. With the exit of key players Sean Alexander and Josh Brown some new faces will be coming to the squad including Julius Jones, from the Cowboys and Mike Solari, the new offensive line coach formerly of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Hasselbeck already appreciates the changes Solari has brought to the squad, "He's really done a nice job of bringing our running game together." Hasselbeck recognizes the importance of focusing on the 08' roster coming together, even in the face of the loss of strong team members from past seasons, "At many points along my Seahawks career I've lost good friends and good teammates but you can't worry about them so much, you have to look forward and come together with the guys that are on your team."
The first opportunity to catch the new team at work is the intrasquad scrimmage at Qwest Field, Saturday August 2nd concluding the first week of camp.
