More local residents are buying homes and paying less.

Pending home sales in western and central Washington are at their highest level in eight months.

Brokers reported just over 6,200 sales in April, which was the best month since last August.

The Northwest Multiple Listing Service shows that selling prices in Seattle continue to fall, the median price of a home dropped $10,000 from the month before to $440,000. But the upward trend continues for single-family homes in King County with three straight months of increases.
