The Washington State Patrol says a school bus carrying 36 children left the road and rolled over on its side in the Skagit County community of Conway.

Police say 36 children from the Conway School District were on board when the bus rolled over, but none of the children were seriously injured.

Conway School Principal Deenie Berry says parents went to the accident scene to collect their children. They ranged in age from 5 to 14.

Investigators say it appears the 41-year-old female bus driver turned the bus into a five-foot ditch on the side of the road causing it to roll over. It was apparently the driver's second day on the job.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Nelson and Burkland Road near Mount Vernon.

The intersection where the accident occurred is on a rural road not far from the town of Conway, just south of Mount Vernon.

The Skagit County sheriff's office will be investigating the crash.

Is this a sign of whats to come when we start getting rid of people who currently work with our youth and hire people who will supposedly do a better job?

Sorry, but that's to early for any accidents let alone a roll over! There are plenty of people who can do the job, and that would love that job. I'm sure many of them are much more capable then this woman! Glad no one was hurt.

    Second Day?
I have a School Bus endorsement and they put me through hell to get it. I dont know what it is like for Drivers in Mt Vernon (Isn't Glen Beck from there?) but if that Driver went to school and got her training at Commercial Driving Services, LLC in Lakewood WA like I did instead of some flt by night school like Bates Tech then I am 100% certain that that accident would never have happened because they dont joke around when it comes to driving. Perhaps all school bus drivers should be forced to go there.

sounds to me like they should have kept the 30 year veteran, rather than hiring a newbie for half the pay!!!
