The Snohomish County sheriff's office said Wednesday a Seattle man remains missing near Darrington.

Searchers have been looking for 59-year-old Gregory Keller since Tuesday when his girlfriend reported he had failed to return Monday from a hiking trip that began Oct. 27.

They found his rental car parked on French Creek Road, about 10 miles west of Darrington off Highway 530.

Is always a bad idea. Always. You can be the best there is, but you can't survive by yourself if you get injured.

You're quite right, Dadio. I used to do it myself, and look back now and can't believe how stupid I was. Anybody can get in trouble. Anybody. I hope this fellow is found safe. I also hope readers learn from this.

I'm glad the early trappers and hunters didn't all subscribe to your premise. We would have never settled this country otherwise. People who don't know what they are doing or who take excessive risks are a problem. There is nothing more cathartic than spending time alone in the wilderness.
