Bremerton High pledges to avoid swearing
KIRO Radio
Swearing is so not cool at this year's homecoming game at Bremerton High School.
Students have taken a pledge to avoid profanity.
"Once in awhile everybody does slip up," but junior Heather O'Grady says other students have bought into the "Dare Not to Swear" campaign.
"If somebody does swear, you definitely hear 'dare not to swear,' in the hall," said O'Grady.
Senior cheerleader Candace Alvear says it's a chance to expand your vocabulary. "It's so handy too, especially when you're talking to adults. It makes you seem way more smarter and way more educated when you can use bigger words other than swearing words."
The North Kitsap Vikings have also agreed to clean up the language and coaches and players from both sides will wear wristbands during Friday night's game in support of the anti-swearing campaign.
