Seattle police shot a suspected bank robber late Wednesday afternoon at the corner of Greenwood Ave N and Holman Rd.

Assistant Seattle Police Chief Nick Metz said Wednesday that police had been on the lookout for a silver Dodge Ram pickup after it was linked to a bank robbery north of Seattle.

An officer began trailing the truck in Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood and multiple police cars moved to box it in. When the pickup driver reacted by ramming a patrol car, a detective fired four shots, hitting the man in the arm.

Officers say the man then smashed into a nearby SUV, which was carrying a man and his two small children. The three were taken to Harborview Medical Center with minor injuries. Police say no officers were injured.

Metz says police believe the man has committed several bank robberies and they considered him dangerous. He was taken to Harborview with non-life-threatening injuries.

Jeez RLM456, have a problem with the law?
The dude robbed a bank and rammed a family in their car. Then he tried to run over a police office... allegedly. Don't you think perhaps that warrants a flesh wound to stop him from trying to run over everyone in site to escape with the loot?

No I don't have a problem with the Law. I do have a problem with the phony INTERNAL INVESTIGATIONS.

    Nice comment
What is wrong with you guys, how about you stop a dangerous bank robbery suspect that is ramming people with a large truck and try asking him in a nice tone of voice to stop it and cooperate. You (RLM456) crack me up with your stupid comments about how the cops are wrong no matter what they do. I guess if they did not shoot him and the guy killed a bunch of people that you would be sitting there at your air conditioned desk and complaining that they did not take the necessary action to stop him... Get over yourself RLM456...

    Police involved shooting....
The police officer will be vindicated by Internal Investigations, whether he was right or wrong. In this case, I believe he followed correct procedure. The 'perp' is obviously big trouble and didn't care who he could hurt.

When was the last time a Police Officer was censured by the review board? This sounds like one of those appropriate response situations to me.
