Game of lighter fluid tag ends badly

Comments   |   Print this   |   E-mail this   |
A man is at Harborview recovering from serious burns he suffered during an unusual game called "lighter fluid tag."

Apparently, he was one of several people playing the game Monday near Port Angeles.

It involved squirting each other with lighter fluid, lighting the clothing of the person who is "it," and then beating out the flames.

The Clallam County Sheriff is looking into whether anyone should be charged with a crime.

    A little bit of understatement.
The first thing the Sheriff should be looking for is the mass of beer cans nearby. It cannot be hard to miss as it would take me several six packs before I even thought it would be ok to get sprayed with lighter fluid and by that time I would be out anyway.

    Where's the outrage?
Wasting limited petroleum resources on a game? Burning clothing? Where is the carbon footprint outcry over this? Why was he taken to Harborview? Shouldn't Darwin's natural selection be permitted to run its course unhampered by doctors? It is a good thing he wasn't hugging a tree at the time. We wouldn't know whether to save him or the tree.

We NEED to try to UNDERSTAND these poor guys....
You people need help!!! - - I am sure that you folks just don't UNDERSTAND the history of these poor guys… - - You are so quick to blame them, when they can't be blamed for the environment that they grew up in…… - - I'm sure that if we contact Gov. Chris she will commission a study to find out what "really" happened to these victims, MAYBE we can TAX the lighter fluid and matches at a higher rate. Those evil lighter corporations just have to PAY for this…..

Place the blame where it belongs
    It was Bush's fault.

Is it a crime to be stupid?
Luckily this was out near Port Angeles. Had it been here in the Seattle area Mayor Schell would have a $500,000 study commissioned to study the effect on the environment.
