Even in a recession there might still be one place where you can indulge in a shopping spree. The 5th Annual West Seattle Community Garage Sale is going on this Saturday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
As the first major garage sale in Seattle this year, the event features more than 170 sales around the peninsula. Individual homes, entire blocks, businesses, church and schools all over West Seattle will be open to sell their goods. Along with the usual housewares, clothes and toys, some sales boast jewelry samples, plants and even Louis Vuitton handbags. The money you spend could be going towards a charity or a donation to a food bank.
Maps are available online and at different locations around the city. With garage sales stretching across different neighborhoods and streets, it's best to grab one and plan out a strategy early!
